Choosing The Right Paper Colour For Your Wedding Invitations
Selecting the perfect paper colour for your wedding invitations is an essential step in setting the tone and theme of your special day.
As a stationery designer, we understand how critical this decision is to convey the right message and aesthetic. Here are some key considerations to help you choose the ideal paper colour for your wedding invites.
Reflect Your Wedding Theme and Colour Palette
The paper colour should harmonise with your overall wedding theme and colour scheme.
Eg: Classic and Elegant – whites, creams and ivory. Rustic and Vintage – earthy tones such as kraft, beige and muted pastels. Romantic and Soft – blush, lavender and soft blues.
Consider your Floral Colour Palette and Bridesmaid/Groomsmen Attire
Lots of couples like to tie-back their invite colour to the hues of their flowers and bridesmaids dresses, giving their guests a taste of what’s to come.
Consider the Season
Aligning your paper colour with the season your wedding will be in can enhance the ambiance.
Summer – vibrant hues. Autumn – rich and warm tones. Winter – cool and elegant colours. Spring – fresh and light colours.
Printing Techniques
If you have your heart set on a specific ink colour, such as having white ink printed on your stationery, make sure to consider if your paper colour is not going to wash out the ink!
For example, it is best to user “darker” coloured papers to enhance the white ink. You will not be able to use a white or ivory paper if you would like to have white ink. The same goes for dark coloured inks with darker papers.
Choosing the right paper colour for your wedding invites is more than just a design choice. It is a reflection of your love story and the journey you are about to embark on.
We can help you navigate through various options and find the perfect match for your wedding theme and design to ensure that you will love it, and to also leave a lasting impression on your guests!
